OBD-II Compliant
If you are not sure, look under the hood and try to locate a label that explicitly states that the vehicle was designed to comply with OBD2 legislation. In this case, OBDII is used as a general term and can mean any of the following: OBD II (California ARB) EOBD (European OBD) JOBD (Japanese OBD) You may also consult your vehicle's owner's manual and perhaps contact your local dealer. However, be aware of the fact that many dealers do not know the difference between OBD and OBDII. If the vehicle is not OBD-II compliant, you cannot use this ELM327 OBD2 scan tool to obtain diagnostic information from your vehicle.

FORScan Software Support :
FORScan can detect modules which are not visible for regular OBD2 scanners, can show you trouble codes which are never displayed by OBD2 scanners, can show you PIDs which are not supported by any OBD2 scanner, run specific tests and service procedures. In other words, FORScan can do things that regular OBD2 scanners can not do.
How To Use:
1. Please download USB driver and forscan software or other software from sw.forscan.net
2. Double-click one by one to install all USB driver from the “USB drivers” Folder ;
3. Double-click the software you want to install, for Ford, we recommend FORScan, the application is FORScanSetup2.3.19.beta.exe;
4. Connect the ELM327 diagnostic cable to car and laptop, turn on the ignition of the car.  Double click the forscan software icon from desktop to run. Then click the connection icon as showed in the follow picture.
Questions & Answers:
Q: What is Extended License, why and when do I need it?
A: Extended License provides access to Configuration and Programming functions of FORScan, and also few Service functions (such as PATS programming).
Base FORScan functionality (connection, retrieving vehicle information, reading parameters, read and reset diagnostic trouble codes, run tests and service functions etc) do NOT require Extended License. There is a free 2 month Extended License that can be issued for anyone who has account on forscan official forum. Also there are paid longterm and lifelong licenses. More information about Extended License can be found on forscan official store.
Q: Why FORScan doesn't show function Y for my car? When this function will be added?
A: Functions may be very different for different models and especially different generations of models and different brands. For example, at this moment there are 50+ known versions of ABS bleed procedure for Ford models, only 10+ are implemented in FORScan. We do not add functions just for fun, as number of functions is huge because of multiple versions. So we add functions by requests. More requests from users for a function - more chance for this function to be added in the near future.
Q: How can I get Extended License after trial period?
A: At this moment only 2 months free Extended License is available. When it is expired, you will be able to issue another 2 months one, also for free. Or you can buy long term (1, 3, 5 years) or lifelong Extended License.
Problem 1: The laptop no connection with ELM327 cable.
Solution: Step1: Please check is the USB Driver installed : Right-click " My computer" ,"Device Manager" , Ports (COM & LPT) shows "CH340" , if doesn't see CH340, please reinstall the USB driver. Step2: If the USB driver was installed, please check the USB Connection and OBDII Connection, make sure well connections.
Problem 2: No connection with the vehicle , if you are using Win10 system
Solution: Step1: Right -click the FORScan icon on desktop, Choose " Properties" , Choose "Compatibility", Choose " Windows7 " , then save. Step2: Right-click FORScan icon, choose " Run as administrator" , connect the cable to car and laptop, put ignition on to test.
Problem 3: The car ignition switch is turned on, it still shows: Iginition key is in ON position Solution:
