    Description

    This is a pair of framed limited production 15th century bible leafs featuring the 18th Psalm.
    The originals measured about 3" x 4" and were handwritten by a monk in Northern France in the 1450s.
    The owner had them blown-up, reproduced and framed to preserve and display their amazing beauty.
    The frames measure 14x17 inches and the insert measure 7-1/2x9-1/2 inches.
    They are in Latin.  I do not read Latin, but one translation is as follows:
    PSALM 18:1-3 (1st photo) Prayer for Strength
    I love you, O LORD, my strength.
    The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer.
    my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.
    He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
    I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
    and I am saved from my enemies.
    PSALM 18:4-6 (second photo) Prayer During Distress
    The cords of death entangled me;
    the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
    The cords of the grave coiled around me;
    the snares of death confronted me.
    In my distress I called to the LORD;
    I cried to my God for help.
    From his temple he heard my voice;
    my cry came before him, into his ears.
