Description
Rembrandt was the famous "artist of light," who illuminated many subjects, including Jesus and the saints. This face of Christ, the Light of the World, was one of several that Rembrandt did that looked similar. This particular one is called the Philadelphia panel and is our favorite of the group. Purportedly, this was the one that Rembrandt kept in his bedroom the last years of his life. Painted around 1650, it resides in the Philadelphia Museum of Art.We have done some restoration to the print, which had several long lines which looked like creased canvas folds, but we have left a number of the little chips and flakes to retain that period look.
8.5 x 11 acid-free archival paper, with about an inch-and-a-third of white space around the picture, so the image is smaller than the paper.
Cardboard backer. Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
Standard size. Easy to find a ready-made frame at your local Hobby Lobby. If you're sending this as a gift and would like us to frame it for you, please convo and we'll make special arrangements for you.
